Celebrating Ireland
Happy St. Patty’s Day! Safe celebrations to you and your family
We started early – my parents invited everyone for Sunday dinner (although I heard rumour that the idea started because one of my sisters invited herself over). They made boiled cabbage and potato with corned beef (it came in a plastic bag, so it got steamed) and homemade Soda Bread. Steve and I brought mini sausage rolls as an appetizer, one of my sisters brought a crispy asian salad (yummy) and Daddy picked up a case of Guinness.
- Dressed right
- Soda Bread
- Corn Beef Brisket
- Dinner served
- Apple Cake
- 100% Blarney
For dessert my Mom found a moist, rich tasting apple cake recipe (still waiting to share because it was really good and she said it’s easy to make) and Dad picked up chocolate cupcakes that had irish rings in them with funny sayings. For the rest of the night we rummaged through bags of old notions from my Great Aunt. Oddly enough, we found the actual book on how to knit from the 1950′s – one that I posted the cover of a few days ago »
What are you doing to celebrate?
