début anniversaire
Steve and I celebrated our 1st anniversary last weekend. I took Friday afternoon off to garden as well as Saturday (all day). Then we got dressed up for dinner at Lord Byron in Waterdown. Steve’s dinner was delicious – he had bison rib-eye!
The next day we had a BBQ dinner in Oakville. My parents went all out – kabobs including pineapple and my sister baked an amazing triple layer chocolate cake with fondant flowers and a whipped cream icing with nutella, plus solid milk chocolate between each layer. Luckily she sent us home wih the leftovers. Mom made her famous potato salad, a green salad and lemon mirangue pie. They also cracked open a jar of my Aunt Jean’s beets … which are like crack they taste so good (I know because I ate almost the whole thing by myself). I was stuffed to the gills and practically had to be rolled out the door.
Then the next day, Steve surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers – not because of our anniversary – just to surprise me and let me know how much he loves me, which he must because he’s really allergic and was wheezing in the car just bringing them home!! My husband is so wonderfully thoughtful.
These are the pics (there’s more on Facebook of the family):
