Best Ever Turkey Breast
I know I haven’t made this one for you but it is a great crock pot recipe and super easy – healthy too – I created this one when turkey breasts were on sale at the dreaded W superstore:
- Boneless turkey breast
- 3 TBS Dijon Mustard (I prefer the kind without seeds)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 tsp Herbs de provence
I usually use the onion tray idea for any meat that isn’t cooked in a lot of sauce. So put the onion tray in the crock pot. Place turkey breast on top of onions. Mix rest of ingredients. Pour over turkey breast and put on low for about 6 hours. I think this was done in less than 6 but was still great when I took it out at 8 hours. I served it with mixed veg and brown rice.

We mostly drink red wine, so instead I added 1/2 cup of home made (sodium free) chicken stock made with lemon juice. I also omitted the garlic – added it to smashed yellow flesh potatoes (skins on), which I also boiled with some stock!
I cooked the turkey on high for 2.5-hours and then checked it for doneness. It was so close – I should have turned it to low or just let it cook another half-hour … but I went out for dinner to my sister’s and asked Steve to turn it off at 6:30 (which would have been 4-hours of cooking time) and he faithfully did. It was my first ever crock pot failure. The meat was so overly done it was tough and the sauce had blackened and was burnt to the pan. I was so sad when I came home and saw the fiasco
This is lunch for the week.
